Calzedonia - Dossobuono (VR) - Italy
Architects: Studio Associato Unigruppo Impianti
A surface area of 9,000 m2, with two 7,500 m2 warehouses, two parking lots and a futuristic entrance: the new Calzedonia headquarters opened recently near Verona.
A turnkey project built by Studio Associato Unigruppo Impianti, the new building will be used for offices and warehouses and takes the form of a 139x134m parallelipiped.
Special care had to be taken to contain the water table and waterproof the building.
With the aid of a big drainage system, a continuous wrapper was constructed outside the concrete structure of the building itself.
A ribbed foundation was then created by thickening the cast to create true bulbs at the points where the pillars rise.
In addition to waterproofing, special care was dedicated to details of construction and finishes inside and outside the building.
Every choice had to reflect the image of the company, which targets a youthful, dynamic clientele.
The building's internal organisation, with large spaces organised in a variety of ways, was strongly characterised by the choice of materials: Persiano Giallo technical ceramic travertine from FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti gives the premises an even colour enriched with veins and speckles in different shades.
The entrance to the offices features geometric effects created by laying a Palladian floor - a solution which creates a strong character in the rooms with its irregularly cut slabs and use of strips.
The office area has raised flooring created with 60x60 slabs.
Use of raised flooring makes for a cleaner office space, leaving all the wiring hidden underneath the floor: this technical choice, combined with the unique colours of man-made Persiano Giallo, gives the entire area the elegance and degree of detail characteristic of the Calzedonia brand.
The raised flooring system was installed by Granitech
